40 Days for Life Begins Today!
The fall 40 Days for Life Campaign begins Wednesday, September 25th.
As stated on 40daysforlife.com, “40 Days for Life is an internationally coordinated 40-day campaign that aims to end abortion locally through prayer and fasting, community outreach, and a peaceful all-day vigil in front of abortion businesses.”
The Bozeman campaign will be held on the public sidewalk near Bridgercare. The primary reason for this is in April of 2022, Bridgercare gained control of Montana's Title X program (federal family planning funding). This means that Bridgercare controls where the federal funding will be used in Montana for sexual and reproductive health services for people who are uninsured or have low incomes.
Although Bridgercare does not provide surgical abortions, they do refer for abortions and will send women to abortion providers in other cities. Bridgercare also prescribes Plan B, Ella, and Paragard and Mirena IUDs that are designed to cause an abortion if a pregnancy does occur by preventing the new baby from being able to implant in the mothers’ uterus.
Currently, there are no surgical abortion providers in the Bozeman area but we must not let that make us negligent in our prayer for the end to abortion nationwide. There is a constant threat that an abortion provider could come to our area and we must stay vigilant and faithful in praying that this does not happen. We also continue to pray for the unborn and for the mothers and fathers considering abortion, that their hearts may be open and they choose life.
40 Days for Life offers us a way to come together in prayer and our witness sends a powerful message about the tragic reality of abortion.
